How A Christian Business Is Run
So, if the Christian Business Owner cannot be the Boss of anyone – how is a Christian Business to run?
This proposition was set out in The Practice Of Equality In The Christian Business published November 22nd, 2009 at http://www.washingtonhotwire.com/?p=638 :
‘Can the Christian Business Owner lord it over others?
‘Jesus explicitly prohibits it.
‘The Gentiles, the nonChristians, the Capitalists, exercise lordship over their people [Luke 22:25 KJV], says Jesus.
‘ “But ye shall not be so…..” [Luke 22:26].
‘Jesus’ message is clear – no Christian Business Owner can be the Boss of anyone else.’
If the Christian Business Owner cannot be the Boss of anyone – how is a Christian Business to run?
Consider the Jesus Enterprise. See The Nature Of The Christian Business published November 20th, 2009 at http://www.washingtonhotwire.com/?p=635 .
It had Jesus as its Leader, and all the Apostles as Followers.
When Jesus went to Heaven – what happened?
None of the Apostles stepped forward and said – I am the Leader. I am going to be the Boss of everyone else. I am going to give the Orders.
In the Jesus Enterprise, the Enterprise that He left behind, no one gave Orders to anyone else.
The reason no one gave Orders in the Jesus Enterprise is because the Apostles saw themselves, not as Leaders, but as Servants.
As Servants of the Lord [Romans 1:1 KJV – King James Version] on the one hand, and, as Servants of their fellow men [Colossians 1:28-29 KJV], on the other.
So, also, in the Christian Business, which replicates the Jesus Enterprise.
No one gives Orders to anyone else. Because, all are Servants of their fellow men. All are Equal before the Lord.
Unlike the Capitalist Enterprise, which is run with Leaders at many levels, the Christian Business is run differently.
It is run with the Lord as its Leader.
And, as such, it has no need for an earthly one.
