New Year 2010 Resolution For The Christian Business – Part 1 of 2
The Christian Business does not have to make several New Year 2010 Resolutions.
Just one is needed. To become more Spiritual.
Personally. And, Professionally.
Whether Worker or Employer or Manager.
There are several ways to become more Spiritual.
Start and end the day with Prayer.
Visit a Church on the way to work.
Do a 1-2 minute Devotional at the work space.
Visit a Church on the way home from work.
But, while these activities start and sustain an on-going Spirituality, they rarely help take the Individual’s Spirituality one notch up.
For that, the Individual in the Christian Business needs a Retreat.
Jesus retreated to a quiet place, often. Not just to rest and re-charge. But, to rise to the next level of Spirituality to meet the on-coming, and increasingly more difficult, challenges in His life.
That’s the example that the Individual in the Christian Business, whether Worker or Employer or Manager, needs to emulate!
Like Jesus – to rest, re-charge, and rise to the next level of Spirituality. In order to be able to deal with Business issues in these turbulent times like a Christian.
Many Christian business organizations offer Christians, and others, a Business Retreat.
The one I attend annually is the Retreat conducted by the Georgetown-based Woodstock Business Conference.
Retreats conducted by Christian organizations like the Woodstock Business Conference help clarify, and, sometimes, re-clarify, the Business Calling.
What am I in Business for? Merely to work? Merely to make money?
Is the Lord in any way involved in my working and money-making?
Should the Lord be in any way involved in my working or my money-making?
Is Work distinct from Worship?
Or, more importantly, is Work a form of Worship?
A worthy New Year 2010 Resolution for the Christian Worker, Employer, Manager – make a Retreat.
And, by the Lord’s Grace, rise to the next level of Spirituality.
